Today we are embarking west to Merna
Otherwise known as my hometown.
391 represents the number of people who currently reside in this village that is so dear to my heart. A few of my friends are from much larger ‘cities’ and had high school graduating classes that are double my town’s size. I say to them,
‘You haven’t lived until you’ve had a lukewarm Zima in the back of a pickup truck in...
Cooking with Chef Ed: Class 3
Alright boys and girls we’re into the third week of cooking class with Chef Ed. This week we learned the ins and outs of breading a chicken and making a tender chuck roast.
We began by learning how to carve an entire chicken into eight pieces. Raw.
I wasn’t very good at this. And I cut my finger.
After we cut up the chicken, Chef Ed showed us how to bread and and fry it southern...

I don’t mean to bring my personal life issues into my blogging but I guess it’s a blog so I must. I am sorry for the debbie downer posting; if it offends you, then you should probably go ahead and stop reading my blog.

Check out the subhead, “After 4 Million Sold, There’s Waiting List for Blanket With Arms”
Really? Do we all really want to look like the d bag in that picture?
Guess so.
Cooking with Chef Ed: Class 2
Morning beautiful people.
I apologize for the lack of blog posts. Work seems to get in the way of detailing my life to you all.
At any rate, last night was the second edition of ‘Cooking with Chef Ed’. I thought I did pretty well with the veggie chopping last week. I’m comfortable with veggies. You want to know what I’m not comfortable with? Meat.
My fear of cooking meat...

I think I’m going for it so more to come in the upcoming days.
After all, it’s no secret that my destiny is to marry a professional cowboy and live on a ranch like Jewel.
Phone conversations with dad
I called dad over lunch to ask a very important question.
Me: Hi Poppy! How are you?
Dad: Just fine.
Me: Ok. good. Quick question for you. Could you fix that old ping pong table we have?
Dad: Why?
Me: Because we want to use it as a beer pong table when my friends and I are home at the end of January. Cool?
Dad: That will be fine.
Me: Perfect. Thanks. Love you!
My parents are neat.
Cooking with Chef Ed: Class 1
Last night I made a first real step toward domesticity. I managed to find my room okay and got there early enough to scope out the rest of the class.
What kind of people take an intro to cooking class, you ask?
There were a couple who were looking to get engaged and wanted to learn how to cook together. Gag. (What? Cynical? Me? Never.)
There was a father and son pair who were looking to take...

If you are interested, I have some tuna sandwiches at my desk. Stop by and get one…
It’s been so long since I’ve had a proper BReeze posting. Welcome back with this nugget.
Yes, the lunch hour is quickly approaching, but this somehow makes me no longer hungry! Tuna sitting on someone’s desk doesn’t sound appetizing at...
Off to a LOST marathon today. Happy Sunday!
Dear College Bar,
Thank you in advance for the $2 goose and sodas this evening. I’m happy that you can allow me to stretch my paycheck so far.
Yours,
Amy
When people in my office begin to leave for the day I like to crank techno or 90’s power ballads in depending on my mood.

Ahhhhhhh yes.

So far only 8 people have signed up (including Scooter) so our odds are looking pretty good.
Today I'm going to the gym
I’ve never been in a position to make going to the gym a New Year’s resolution and have always been annoyed with the influx of people on ‘my machines’ from Jan 1 to Feb 1. The gym used to be an escape, a place where I would find my center. I’ve lost that over the past few months but am making it a priority again in 2009.
Other things I’m looking forward to...
