Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers over the last few days. Ryan was moved out of ICU and was doing a hundred times better this afternoon. We truly are blessed and lucky to be surrounded by such caring and thoughtful friends and family.
Seriously? Justin Bobby is on a motorcycle with a sparkly silver helmet,...

Amen, brother.
Christmas is the season when you buy this year’s gifts with next year’s money.

So true. I refuse to look online at my AmEx bill.
Shopping. Done and Done.
I can officially close the books on the 2008 Christmas shopping season. Thanks to the Internet machine I was able to have the USPS do a lot of the work for me.
Yesterday I braved the near arctic temperatures and put the finishing touches on my gift-giving experience——a McDonald’s Arch Card for grandpa to have a bottomless cup of jo at his daily 3pm coffee date.
The light comes on and you move out of the dark. You are loved.

Amy 1 and city sidewalk 0
Today was a close one. I felt my boots slip against the pavement and I was almost airborne, coffee and earmuffs flying.
I gracefully regained composure and manged to make it to work without embarrassing myself.
My life is going to be a Midwestern rendition of “March of the Penguins” every gd day from now until June.
I know I will fall at least once. That will be my sign from above...
Oh. That’s precious. Is that your nephew who’s in the nursing home?

[Editorial Note: My cousin (my aunt’s other nephew) who is in the nursing home is there because he is mentally handicapped due to a car accident.]

Scooter, you = my favorite friend....
Happy Birthday Drewman!
Bummer that I couldn’t be there to add to your table of treats and well wishes with a batch of my homemade ‘Doug’ cookies, but I am there in spirit.
In retrospect I’m giving you a list of my favorite Amy and Andrew moments:
Dance offs with Untitled and Scooter in your office Treating our ‘serious business’ flight to Vegas like a freshman year frat party Sweaty...
can't be
thresca:
You can’t be friends with an ex-lover who deeply hurt you, after all these years I’ve finally realized this. Because friends do not hurt friends. When all have been said and done, the betrayal is still there, even if the pain is gone. It’s better to lose that friendship rather than continually suffer from it.
“Friends do not hurt friends.”
This is a big learning...
I love you, too, baby girl!

Holy shit I can’t wait to watch that episode tonight!
Weekend Plans
Things to accomplish this weekend:
Pick up mom’s Christmas present at FedEx.
Holiday party at Red9 tonight.
Toast RF’s 26th bday at [collegebar] where you can get anything you want for a $1 as long as it’s served in a cup that hasn’t been washed since 1996.
Purchase color safe shampoo and conditioner in anticipation for my hair appointment on Tuesday. Every time I get...
Jeff Lewis Flips Out on Ugly Betty Star →
Jeff Lewis is my favorite person that exists in this world. I offended Ellenclare once by telling her that if we were in a business together she would be Jeff and I would be Ryan. She informed me that I would not get to be Ryan in our partnership and would be Zoila instead. Rude.
Dear Ellenclare and Scooter,
I noticed via my Live Nation Concert update this morning that Lil Wayne and T-Pain are going to be at the Sprint Center soon. Please sign up to win Serious Business suite tickets.
I feel it’s only appropriate we attend.
Yours,
Amy
I wish Loni Love was my Besto.
I watched my DVR’d episode of Chelsea from Tuesday today over lunch and loved every second, esp. “CSI: The Hills”.
The best cure for a bad day at work? A little Chelsea round table over lunch.
Ellenclare and I used to sneak away from the Serious Business over lunch and catch up on episodes of “I Love New York” and “Paradise Hotel 2” in our apartment. No...
I just made these bad ass 'healthy' cookies

Easy answer. Yes. I will take a two block running start and leap as high into your arms as my semi-uncoordinated body will allow.
New Year's Resolution
There is more talk lately about how New Year’s Resolutions should be ‘positive’ and not extreme like giving up candy, booze or losing 50 lbs. I’ve made my official resolution and it may come a surprise to those who love me dearly. Mums has always told me that she didn’t feel the need to teach me how to cook in hopes that I would eventually find a man to do it for me....
I'm watching SNL from last night
and TI makes me feel giddy.
Police dog tracks suspected candy thief →
RF showed me this little story from our hometown newspaper last night and asked, “Now tell me what’s the best part of the story?”
I respond, “Obv. the fact that the alleged thief punched the store clerk in the chest before throwing candy bars at her OR the mention of the pizza box in the parking lot which has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the story.”

Thanks buddy. This reminds me of the time right before sorority recruitment when dad and I would have prep sessions of what I could talk about with the girls at each house and what was off...
Bagels on the Sidewalk
I saw a poor woman take a dive on the ice and it caused her to fling a whole bag of bagels on the sidewalk. Bagels on the sidewalk. Such a shame.
What do you do in that kind of situation? Luckily the humor didn’t it me until later so I stuck out my lower lip (it’s a habit) and helped her pick up each bit of asiago cheese goodness and went on my way.
Life is neat sometimes.
Losses will fade away.
New good things will come.

A new optimistic outlook. Starting today.
Life Outside the Boys Club
At a work retreat this morning, we got off the subject of ‘work’ for awhile and began talking about platonic relationships between men and women after marriage. Let’s just say that I represent the minority of the unmarried. The general consensus is that after you’re married, your guy or girl friend relationships go away. Having fit easily into the boys club my whole life, I...
